Why I am Here

Updated: Apr 25, 2020

Fist let me tell you why I am NOT here. I am not here to tell you a horror story and to warn you to get help as quickly as possible so that your story doesn’t end that way. I know better. Saying that (as many health practitioners and mental health specialists do) only contributes to the problem.

I am here because I have stood in your shoes and seen that our current cultural understanding and treatment of the postpartum experience (specifically postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, and postpartum psychosis) just doesn’t cut it. I have lived the incredibly dark moments typically associated with postpartum mood disorders, and I know that the solutions that are offered to mothers and fathers are simply unsatisfactory.

I am here because I know that no matter who you are and no matter what you have been through and where you are today, that inside of you there is a source of strength and love that you simply are not aware of.

I am here to tap you on the shoulder until you wake up to that reality.

I am here to tell you that I have stood in your shoes, or at least similar ones, and I can tell you with the utmost confidence that you have nothing to fear.

I am here because I know that your experience is inviting you to see your true identity and your beautiful design and to live life from that incredibly powerful stance, and I want to be one of the resources that exposes you to that truth.

From the darkness, I’ve seen a truth about who I am and who you are, and it’s too good to be kept to myself. I am here to share it with you.

I am here to tell you that I know that you can do it, and that you have everything you need to be a parent today. I am here because I am FOR you.

Let’s take this wild ride together.
